Self Watering Systems
Self Watering Systems
A self watering system is any method of watering plants where the water is introduced from the bottom, allowing the water to soak upwards to the plant through capillary action. It is possible to automate the watering: usually just with gravity and a float valve and SWS's are popular with professional growers.
These simple, reliable systems give good results with minimal attention. They do not need any power to operate apart from an air pump for the reservoir.
