The RainForest 72 is an aeroponic propagator manufactured by General Hydroponics.

Used by the biggest research laboratories in the US (including Argonne National Laboratory and Los Alamos National Laboratory), the RainForest has demonstrated the most dramatic growth rates and yields of any hydroponic system yet tested.

The RainForest is practically an exact replica of the original Ein Gedi System developed in Israel, designed to maximize the amount of oxygen available to plant roots. The design is simple and brilliant.

Plants are suspended within special "net pots" surrounded with clay pebbles. Below this is an air-gap into which the roots hang, and below this air-gap is the nutrient solution. A special motorised vaporiser lifts the nutrient up and sprays it into the air-gap. This results in the highest possible level of oxygen that can be attained within the root zone.

For propagating cuttings or quick-starting seeds, transplants or seedlings, there is no hydroponic system that will match the performance of the RainForest. Ideal for starting plants or even for growing plants to maturity and harvest - RainForest is the ultimate. Many growers choose to start their plants in RainForest modules and later transplant them into AquaFarms or Dutch Pots - the best of both worlds.

  • No transplant stress for your plants: easy to move into any other unit, hydroponics or soil
  • No need for humidity domes as the stems already stand in water
  • Manufactured from heavy-duty, recycled plastic that is UV-Resistant and containing a light barrier to protect the solution from sunlight (preventing algae growth in the reservoir)
  • Requires very small quantities of clay pebbles (a bio-degradable and re-usable substrate)
